Runstr
Profiles, monthly memberships, and school resources connected through participation.
What it is
Runstr is being built around Student, Teacher, Team, and School profiles. It connects updates and supporter memberships with points, rewards, and school resources.
The four profile types serve different roles within a school community. Supporter memberships connect participation with school resources; the profiles are not personal cash accounts.
Monthly profile memberships support participation and school resources. Points connect eligible participation to rewards; they are not cash payouts or donations.
Who it is for
Students, teachers, coaches, school leaders, and supporters.
The approach
Four profile types: Student, Teacher, Team, and School.
Five visitor paths: Student, Teacher, Coach, School, and Supporter.
Coaches manage authorized Team profiles; choosing a visitor path does not grant account access.
Monthly profile memberships support participation and school resources, not personal cash payouts or donations.
Participation, connected
Runstr connects Education Angel Group identity, school-life profiles and ongoing supporter relationships. Updates, memberships, rewards and school resources have separate requirements and responsibilities. These views show how they relate.
1. Understand the profile context
A visitor path helps someone find the right explanation. A profile identifies whose school-life context is represented.
- Start with
- Your relationship to a student, teacher, team or school.
- What happens
- Distinguish the public visitor path from the profile and its authorized managers.
- Result
- The right context for understanding or sharing a story.
Visitor choice does not grant management or private access. Coach is a Team manager, not a fifth profile type.
Profiles and people around them
- Profile types
- Student, Teacher, Team, School
- Visitor paths
- Student, Teacher, Coach, School, Supporter
- Coach
- Manages an authorized Team profile.
- Supporter
- Connects with a profile; not a separate public profile type.
Concept preview of profile relationships, not real accounts or verified affiliations. 2. Share a permitted Check-in
A Check-in can describe an ordinary activity, milestone or next step. A permitted supporter can understand it and make a meaningful Reply.
- Start with
- An authorized profile and a story its owner chooses to share.
- What happens
- Write or record a Check-in and share it only with its allowed audience.
- Result
- A permitted update, a possible Reply and later progress in the profile.
Text is a complete option. Voice needs an editable transcript; photos are optional context, never the only post body. There is no required posting cadence.
A Check-in in its profile
- Check-in
- Chosen text or voice about school life.
- Audience permission
- Only the audience allowed for this profile and update.
- Reply
- A permitted supporter responds with meaningful text or voice.
- Later progress
- A later update can show what changed.
Concept preview of an update and response sequence, not live activity, a real quote or a permanent archive promise. 3. Understand a profile membership
Monthly profile membership is a voluntary recurring supporter relationship, not a donation. Membership and private-content approval are separate.
- Start with
- A profile you want to support and its recurring membership terms.
- What happens
- Review recurrence, cancellation and the permissions needed for that profile.
- Result
- A clear understanding of the membership relationship and access boundary.
Private Student Check-ins require active membership for that exact Student profile plus independent approval. For a minor, approval is controlled by a verified linked guardian. Routine school-family communication is not a paid replacement.
Membership is not permission
- Membership
- Active monthly membership for the exact Student profile.
- Independent approval
- Explicit permission, controlled for a minor by a verified linked guardian.
- Permitted view
- Both requirements must hold for private Student Check-ins.
Concept preview of separate requirements, not a price, completed checkout or access grant. 4. Separate rewards from school resources
Eligible membership events can connect to reward and institutional programs under their own rules. Posting more does not automatically create points.
- Start with
- A qualifying membership event and the applicable recipient and program rules.
- What happens
- Check reward eligibility separately from the school or district’s resource acceptance process.
- Result
- A possible Prizes catalog continuation or an institutional resource path, when its rules permit.
Reward points are not cash. There is no guaranteed prize or school funding. Personal Teacher and Coach rewards are not established entitlements.
Different outcomes, different owners
- Runstr
- Records memberships and reward points under the applicable eligibility rules.
- Student rewards
- Prizes owns the catalog, reservation and fulfillment path.
- School resources
- Institutional benefit follows the school or district’s accepted process, not a personal reward balance.
- Challenge competition points
- Separate from personal rewards and institutional resources.
Concept preview of separate reward and resource paths. No balance, conversion rate, stocked prize or settlement method is shown.
These are noninteractive concepts, not available account, payment or reward services on this website. Current eligibility, terms and availability must govern real participation. Memberships are not donations, points are not cash, and institutional resources are not personal payouts.
Research
What supports the proposed Runstr model, and what remains untested?
Evidence supports taking school resource needs, family communication and unequal access seriously. It does not establish that combining them in Runstr will work.
